Lord's Supper: From February we will be moving our celebration of the Lord's Supper from the evening of the last Sunday in the month to being part of a morning service during the month. Originally it was moved to the evening to help facilitate those who could not attend regularly in the morning. However by celebrating it during the course of at least one morning service a month we hope that will help facilitate others who cannot otherwise participate in the Supper.
Baptist Aid: Anyone wishing to make a financial contribution to the relief effort in Haiti can do so through the Baptist Aid department of the Association. Simply place your gift in an envelope marked Baptist Aid and either place it in the offering or in the offering box on the back wall.
We now have a
Podcast of sermons from the church. It is iTunes enabled, and is listed in the iTunes Store. Already the feed contains links to download all the services availble from April 2007, and we plan to add all the previous sermons to it through time.
Iain Campbell has a challenging blog about the blessings of gathering for worship with the people of God that is well worth pondering: The assembling of ourselves together, reformation 21 blog, 14 Nov 2008.
We have an induction loop system installed. This is a special amplifier that transmits a magnetic signal through a wire that encircles our main hall. Hearing aids can now serve as personal in-the-ear loudspeakers. Hearing aid wearers with a 'T' (telecoil) setting can now hear the service broadcast directly through their hearing aids, free from the background noise which commonly interferes with most hearing aids. The loop system was installed to help provide a clear hearing of the Gospel to all.
More information about loop systems can be found at HearingLoop.org.
