Advent 2008

Peter F. Whyte, Advent 2008

Is the credit crunch cramping your Christmas this year?

Is Christmas just a season of stress?

Do you dread Christmas? Or are you ready for Christmas?

I don't mean have you chosen a tree, booked a turkey, tacked up the tinsel and bought all the presents. But have you thought about why we have Christmas at all? Have you wondered if there's more to Christmas than turkey with all the trappings?

Why not make spiritual preparations this Christmas?

For many centuries Christians have sought to take time during the countdown to Christmas to think about the serious issues of life, death, and what happens then. Take time this Christmas to think with us on the serious side of Christmas and beyond. This year, relieve the stress, restore the joy, and reflect on the spiritual implications of Christmas.

Don't just have a happy Christmas this year, but rejoice with God's people this Advent season and for the rest of your life. Make Christmas joy last for ever. Make Christmas and all of life about Christ.
